Product Calorie Calculator
Use our free food calorie calculator to find out how many calories are in a product or in your whole meal. Enter the calories per 100 g (from the label or our calorie table) and the amount in grams—then add as many products as you like to get a meal total.
A product calorie calculator (or meal calorie calculator) lets you work out calories from the energy value per 100 g and the portion size. You don't need an app: this is a simple online nutritional value calculator that uses your own numbers. Add multiple rows to count calories in a full meal or recipe. For reference values, see our calorie table. Research from PubMed and the WHO supports that calorie awareness can help with weight management when part of a balanced approach.
Search from 300+ foods to auto-fill calories, or enter your own values from a label.
What Is a Food Calorie Calculator?
A food calorie calculator (or product calorie calculator) is a tool that works out how many calories are in a product or meal when you know the energy per 100 g and the amount you're eating. You enter calories per 100 g—from the product label or a reference like our calorie table—and the weight in grams. The calculator then gives you the total for that product. Add several products to get a meal calorie calculator effect: the total calories for your whole plate. No app or sign-up is required; it's a free online nutritional value calculator for energy (calories) based on your inputs.
How to Use the Product Calorie Calculator
In each row, enter a product name (optional, for your own reference), the calories per 100 g from the nutrition label or our calorie table, and the amount in grams you're eating. Click "Add another product" to add more rows for a full meal. Then click "Calculate meal calories." The formula is: calories = (kcal per 100 g × amount in g) ÷ 100. So 150 g of something with 200 kcal per 100 g gives 300 kcal. The calculator shows each product's calories and the total for the meal, plus the average kcal per 100 g of the combined portion.
Where to Get Calories per 100 g
Use the nutrition label on the package: it often shows "per 100 g" or "per 100 ml." If the label only shows per serving, convert: (calories per serving × 100) ÷ grams per serving = kcal per 100 g. You can also use our calorie table or trusted databases (e.g. USDA FoodData Central) for unpackaged foods. Values vary by brand and preparation, so treat results as estimates.
Calculating Calories in a Meal or Recipe
This tool works as a meal calorie calculator and nutrition calculator for recipes: add one row per ingredient or item. For example, add chicken breast (kcal per 100 g and grams), then rice, then vegetables. The calculator sums the calories for the whole meal. For a recipe, add each ingredient with the amount you use; the total is the recipe's calories (or divide by number of portions for per-serving calories). That's how you count calories in a meal without an app.
